Horseshoe Bend and Antelope Canyon Kayak and Camp - SBC

Spend the long weekend camping and exploring scenic Northern Arizona. We will take a guided trip inside the magical sandstone walls of Antelope Canyon! We will also get to see the iconic Horseshoe Bend from an overlook and then get to paddle by it on the river the next day. A highlight of the trip will be our overnight camp out on the banks of the Colorado River where we will paddle 10 miles enjoying the canyon's beauty and historic petroglyphs.

Itinerary
Day 1: We'll begin our journey with a 7.5 hour drive to Lee's Ferry Campground in Page, AZ. First day, we will set up camp and have dinner, then rest early for the busy weekend ahead.
Day 2: Today, we will check out the original settlers' ranch and hike to an overlook of the Colorado River where we will be kayaking today. Then, we will head to the boat launch before getting brought upriver 15 miles to the Glen Canyon Dam. Here, we will begin our kayak downstream and camp along the banks of the river. We will sleep in on the river.
Day 3: We continue down river to our take-out. We will load the van and head to the Horseshoe Bend overlook to take to awesome pictures of this scenic part of the Grand Canyon before arrive at Wahweap RV & Campground for showers.
Day 4: A day trip to enjoy a paddle to lower Antelope Canyon and celebrate with dinner in town before returning to our camp.
Day 5: After breakfast we pack up camp before heading back home.

Food
8 meals are included, starting with breakfast on day 2 (3 breakfasts, 3 lunches, and 2 dinners)
5 meal are not included (2 lunches, 3 dinners). Bring money.
Hygiene and Comfort
We will be transporting all our food, shelter, clothing, water and equipment in a pack weighting up to 40lbs in kayaks. We will be staying in reserved campsites. The campsites are within close proximity to vault toilets and there are NO showers. We will treat water from a nearby spring or bring enough water from CSUSB. You will have the option to share a tent with one or two people or sleep out under the cover of the stars. Light weight tents, warm synthetic sleeping bags, foam pads and ground tarps will be provided to ensure a comfortable night’s sleep. The ground consists of soft and hard soil.
