The California State University, San Bernardino Palm Desert Campus will celebrate its 30th year when it hosts its Third Annual Founder’s Society Dinner on Monday, Dec. 12, at The Vintage Club in Indian Wells.
The dinner, to be held from 5:30-8 p.m., recognizes donors to the campus of $250,000 and higher. This year, medals of merit will be given to:
- Dr. Ward and Mrs. Pat Fredericks
- The City of Palm Desert
- The City of Rancho Mirage
- The City of La Quinta
Also expected to attend are university supporters Ron and Sherri Auen, Dick and Jan Oliphant, Lucy and Angus McBain, Abby and Andreas Mozoras, Joe and Karen Wallace, Sabby and Wendy Jonathan, Suz Hunt, Scott White, Ray and Kathy Rodriguez, Peggy Cravens, Al Jones and Marc Byrd, JoAnn and Mark Nickerson, and Tom and Debbie Davis. In addition, the university’s new Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs Shari McMahan will attend.
The event will include a performance by Heatwave, the jazz band of the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Coachella Valley. And a student and faculty member team will share the story of mentorship at the Palm Desert Campus.
The CSUSB Palm Desert Campus is the only four-year public university in the Coachella Valley. It currently serves nearly 1,200 bachelors, masters and doctoral students.
