Members of the women and men’s soccer teams have earned CCAA honors, the conference announced at its annual tournament banquet on Nov. 3.

On the women’s team, leading scorer Rachael Figg played a pivotal role for the Coyotes in their drive toward the top in the CCAA this fall. She was honored for her efforts as the conference's newcomer of the year and with first-team honors at the tournament banquet held Thursday night.

Figg, a Fontana native, is just the third first-teamer for CSUSB (8-7-2, 7-3-2 CCAA) in the last six years and is the program's first newcomer of the year. She scored a team-high six goals and led the Coyotes in points with 13 (9th CCAA points/game). She earned one conference player of the week honors for her efforts in a weekend home sweep over Cal State East Bay (one goal) and the game's only goal against Stanislaus State.

Senior goalkeeper Megan Vina earned second-team honors after an 8-4-2 record in the nets. She finished second in the CCAA in save percentage (.833) and third in saves per game (4.29). She had five shutouts, and just like her teammate Figg, earned one conference player of the week honor.

Earning honorable mention accolades were seniors forward Amanda Lopez, midfielder Paige Kang (her third in four years), defender Jessica Koch, and forward Susan Ibarra (second in three seasons).

On the men’s team, seniors Diego Casillas and Daniel Looker have been the catalysts for CSUSB all season long and both were honored on the second-team All-CCAA team.

Casillas is the scoring leader for the Coyotes, who face conference regular-season champion UC San Diego in the CCAA semifinals Friday afternoon in Turlock. The Delano native has scored seven goals — five on penalty kicks — and also leads in points (15) and shots (37) and shots on goal (20). He has three game winners.

Looker was given his due after three years with the Coyotes. His 6-foot-3 agile build gives the Coyotes a huge presence on the defensive end of the field and is a prime reason for CSUSB reaching its best win total (10-5-2) in the last six seasons.

He is equally adept in the classroom, earning his second straight CoSIDA Academic All-District honor this season.

Earning honorable mention honors were: freshman goalkeeper Jacob Huber, junior forward Hieu Ngo, and senior defender Eric Lavery.
