Cal State San Bernardino’s Coyote Radio & Advertising continued its tradition of excellence at the annual American Advertising Federation Inland Empire “ADDY” Awards Gala, winning 10 awards in the professional category. The students who comprise Coyote Radio & Advertising, housed in CSUSB’s College of Arts and Letters, competed against commercial advertising agencies and companies in the Inland Empire market of 4 million people. Coyote Radio & Advertising is unique in that the department creates advertising pieces for the CSUSB’s colleges, departments, resource centers and other entities on campus, essentially serving as an “in-house” advertising agency. The awards were given at the gala, held at the Historic Mission Inn in Riverside, on March 15. Advertising pieces for the CSUSB Division of Information Technology Services produced four winning entries. They were the Faculty and Staff Resource Guide, The Student Resource Guide, the Coyote OneCard, and an award was given for copy writing the ITS blog article on “ATI’s Immersive Technologies: VR.” Other award winners were: The College of Education’s “End of the Year Solicitation Letter,” PDC’s Paws Radio promotional poster, the John M. Pfau Library’s NASA campaign, the Human Resources Department’s “PAWS for Learning” logo creation, and the RAFFMA promotional video for its “Calafia” exhibit. The tenth award was given to Coyote Radio & Advertising for its design of the door wrap which covers the entrance to their offices in the basement of the Pfau Library. Founded in 1905, the American Advertising Federation (AAF) is the only organization that includes members across all disciplines and career levels in advertising. The organization is dedicated to advancing careers, sharing knowledge and trends and building connections in the ever-changing advertising industry.
