The photography of Cal State San Bernardino professor emerita Sant Khalsa, professor Thomas McGovern, lecturer Anthony Maher, and photo technician and lecturer Andrew K. Thompson are currently part of the exhibit, “In the Sunshine of Neglect: Defining Photographs and Radical Experiments in Inland Southern California, 1950 to the Present” at UCR ARTS: California Museum of Photography and Riverside Art Museum. The exhibit, which opened Jan. 18, will be on display through April 28 at UCR ARTS: California Museum of Photography and Riverside Art Museum, located at 3424 Mission Inn Ave. in Riverside. The CSUSB faculty are among the 54 photographers featured in the exhibit, which consists of 194 photographs. “In the Sunshine of Neglect” was curated by artist and UCR ARTS: California Museum of Photography senior curator Douglas McCulloh. According to the exhibit webpage, “The show presents the title’s territory on the eastern edge of the Los Angeles Basin as an experimental tabula rasa playground for photographers, where nothing was at stake, so everything was possible.” The Los Angeles Times recently featured the exhibit in its article, “Finding a geography of home in the Inland Empire,” published on Jan. 17. McGovern’s and Maher’s each had a photo included in the article.
