Eileen L. Kachevas, 75, former presidential aide and CSUSB employee for 30 years, passed away on May 21, 2015. Born in Chicago in 1940, she moved to San Bernardino as a child and lived there the rest of her life.  She attended St. Bernardine’s High School and Skadron Business College, working at General Telephone and Security Pacific Bank before joining CSUSB. Her obituary describes her as being the “lifeblood of the President’s Office.”  She was present for much of the initial growth of the campus and worked for its first 3 presidents. She was survived by her daughter Karen Martinez, grandson Greg Martinez and granddaughter Karina Martinez; daughter and son-in-law Michelle and Marcus Sitzman; and brother John O’Neill.
