Cal State San Bernardino’s Department of Theatre Arts will cap off the university’s 50th Anniversary season of productions with Frank Loesser and Abe Burrows’ “How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying” on Friday, June 3.
Directed by CSUSB professor Tom Provenzano, the play follows the meteoric rise of young J. Pierrepont Finch from ambitious window washer to vice president of advertising at the World-Wide Wicket Company, all thanks to the morally bankrupt advice found in a book titled “How to Succeed in Business …”
As he climbs the corporate ladder, Finch begins to jeopardize not only his career, but also his blossoming romance with secretary Rosemary Pilkington.
This musical production set in the 1960s is a satirical tale of ambition, capitalism, caffeine addiction and questionable ethics. “How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying” opens Friday, June 3 at 8 p.m., with additional performances on:
- Saturday, June 4, at 2 p.m. (sold out) and 8 p.m.;
- Sunday, June 5, at 8 p.m.;
