“Helping others through grief, loss and bereavement” will take place on Thursday, Oct. 29, at 6 p.m., in the Indian Wells Theater at Cal State San Bernardino’s Palm Desert Campus.
The seminar will be led by Lorraine Hedtke, associate professor and program coordinator for the counseling and guidance department of special education, rehabilitation and counseling at CSUSB.
Hedtke coordinates and teaches the MS graduate counseling and PPS credential programs at CSUSB.
She is also the founder of The Fabula Center, a counseling and training center located in Redlands. She teaches about death, dying and bereavement throughout the United States and internationally.
Her unique ideas and practices are drawn from narrative therapy and represent a departure from the conventional models of grief psychology. Hedtke’s articles have appeared in numerous professional journals and magazines.

The seminar is hosted by the Palm Desert Counseling and Student Association, Club Educate and the CSUSB Psychology Club. It is free and open to the public. Parking will be enforced.
