A celebration of Cal State San Bernardino distinguished alumni Lou Monville, ’94, and Elizabeth Sanchez-Monville, ’98, is the focus of the President’s Showcase gala, Saturday, April 29, at the Riverside Convention Center.
“Lou and Elizabeth are two remarkable individuals whose dedication and ongoing work with Cal State San Bernardino and the communities we serve has been an inspiration both to students and alumni,” said CSUSB President Tomás D. Morales. “Lou and Elizabeth are living proof to our students and potential students that our university will make a difference in their lives and they in turn can make a difference at CSUSB and their communities.”
The gala will feature presentations and performances from students, faculty and alumni along with remarks from Morales, and Lou and Elizabeth Sanchez-Monville. Former California State Assemblyman Ted Weggeland will give the opening and closing remarks.
Presentations will be made by poetry Professor Juan Delgado, ’83, and students representing the university’s Associated Students Inc. and the Model United Nations team. Alumnae Denise Tillman, ’14, and Kaylee DeLeon, ’17, will sing “For Good” from the musical “Wicked.” Tillman will also sing “Defy Gravity” from “Wicked.”
Elizabeth Sanchez-Monville, who graduated with bachelor’s degree in political science, has spent 17 years working in local, state and federal legislative affairs, including time as a legislative aide in the U.S. House of Representatives and an assistant to former Riverside Mayor Ron Loveridge.
