Cal State San Bernardino will take time out on Monday, May 1, to recognize the outstanding work of its faculty when it hosts the 2016-17 Faculty Recognition Luncheon.
The annual luncheon took place at the Events Center in the Santos Manuel Student Union.
The university formally recognized the academic year’s Outstanding Professor and Outstanding Faculty Advisor, Eugene Wong, psychology; Golden Apple Award for Teaching, David Polcyn, biology; Outstanding Service, Karen Kolehmainen, physics; and Outstanding Lecturer, Susan Jindra, educational leadership and technology.
Faculty were also be honored for years of service.
Recognized for 35 years of service: J. Paul Vicknair, mathematics.
Recognized for 30 years of service: Nicole Bournias-Vardiabasis, biology; Juan Gutierrez, teacher education and foundations; Sung-Kyoo Huh, accounting and finance; W. Britt Leatham, geological sciences; Charles Stanton, mathematics; and Javad Varzandeh, information and decision sciences.
And recognized for 25 years of service: Rong Chen, English; Dorothy Chen-Maynard, health science and human ecology; Paul Dixon, physics; Mary Fong, communication studies; George Georgiou, computer science and engineering; Larry Mink, chemistry and biochemistry; and Bonnie Petry, John M. Pfau Library.
