Cal State San Bernardino hosted a daylong regional workshop on Friday, March 3, for faculty from CSUSB and 10 other California State University campuses on adaptive learning, a method of instruction that uses technologies which modify course activities such as content, sequence or assessments in real time in response to student performance. Featured speaker Dale Johnson (standing in both photos), the adaptive program manager at Arizona State University, presented an overview of the factors for faculty to consider when choosing an adaptive learning system for their courses. The CSU Chancellor’s Office, CSUSB Academic Technologies and Innovation, and the CSUSB Teaching Resource Center sponsored the workshop, which took place in the John M. Pfau Library.
