UPDATE: Due to the rainy forecast, this month's Garden Workshop has been moved to Jack Brown Hall room 112.
Area residents interested in incorporating native water-saving plants into their landscape can attend a free workshop at the San Bernardino Valley Water Conservation Demonstration Garden at Cal State San Bernardino on Saturday, Jan. 21.
The workshop has been moved to Jack Brown Hall room 112. Complimentary parking is in Lot G.
Jane Hartin from the University of California Cooperative Extension will give the presentation on native and climate-appropriate plant selection, care and benefits, followed by a garden tour, plant give away and drawing for a rain barrel.
The event is part of a series of workshops sponsored by the Inland Empire Resource Conservation District, Water Resources Institute, the San Bernardino Valley Municipal Water District and the city of San Bernardino Water Department.
The workshops cover a variety of topics designed to help consumers save water.
Other events scheduled at the conservation garden are “Tree Care During Drought,” 9 a.m.-noon, March 25; and the Water Conservation Incentives Fair” 9 a.m.-noon, May 20.
