Nearly 400 graduating Latino students were recognized for their accomplishments during the 20th annual Latino Recognition Ceremony at the university’s Coussoulis Arena hosted by the Cal State San Bernardino Association of Latino Faculty, Staff & Students (ALFSS) on June 8.
 
About 3,330 family, friends and supporters of the graduates joined them at the arena to celebrate.
Welcome remarks were given by Robert Nava, the university’s vice president for Advancement with the keynote address given by Leticia Herrera Mendez, who will be graduating with a bachelor’s degree in sociology.
 
The event also featured the recognition of scholarship recipients.
 
ALFSS Scholarship winners are:
 

  • Sofia Canseco, psychology;
  • Elizabeth Ferreira, business administration;
  • Celeste McDonald, communication studies;
  • Marisol Montejano, mathematics;
  • Angela Padilla, marketing;
  • Aldo Galindo Salazar, computer science;
  • Maria G. Venegas, criminal justice; and
  • Samantha Zometa, criminal justice.

JC Robinson Scholarship recipient is:

  • Sandra Morayla, history.
