The Latino Education and Advocacy Days (LEAD) Summit XI and its related events scheduled for later this month have been postponed to September and will become part of the Cal State San Bernardino Hispanic Heritage Month series of events.
 
The LEAD XI postponement comes in the wake of the evolving novel coronavirus (COVID-19) situation, and was made in response to the university’s decision to cancel all events and gatherings on or off campus of 250 participants or more through April 30.
 
CSUSB, as part of its ongoing commitment to the health and safety of its students, faculty and staff, complied with Gov. Gavin Newsom’s executive order that all nonessential public gatherings of 250 or more attendees should be postponed or cancelled.
 
LEAD founder and executive director Enrique Murillo Jr. said the summit and other LEAD-related events will be rescheduled for the week of Monday, Sept. 14 through Saturday, Sept. 19.
 
“Our top concern is the safety and security of our communities,” Murillo said. “We want to ensure the well-being of all.”
