CSUSB professor interviewed for segment on COVID-19 protests and the extremists they attract

Brian Levin, director of the CSUSB Center for the Study of Hate and Extremism, was interviewed for a segment about members of radical extremist groups, such as the Proud Boys, mixing in with the crowds at protests against the COVID-19 public health restrictions.
“When you have these groups that are on the fringes getting involved in the mainstream, it often times has an effect where it often becomes a recruiting rabbit hole for them, where people who may be emotionally vulnerable will be more like to listen to misinformation when there is an opportunity to get together socially,” Levin said.
