Cal State San Bernardino will host a TEDx conference virtually this year. The TEDxCSUSB speaking event, which was originally scheduled in 2020 and rescheduled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, will be held virtually with the theme, “Defining the Future,” on June 7.

The TEDxCSUSB committee is currently taking speaking proposal submissions for the event. Members of the Coyote family can submit their speaking proposals through the TEDxCSUSB website by Wednesday, March 17.

The event is hosted by CSUSB’s College of Arts and Letters Department of Communication Studies. The planning committee includes former CSUSB communication studies graduate Francisco Rodriguez and current communication studies graduate student Rebekah Waddell, along with Office of Strategic Technology Initiatives staff Lisa Brown, project coordinator, and Chris Bradney, interim director.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.
