Cal State San Bernardino caught Paulchris Okpala’s attention because of its focus on and celebration of diversity, which he says influenced his choice to come teach here. The health science and human ecology professor says his values are appreciated on campus and that the diverse population expands student education.
Okpala appreciates Cal State San Bernardino’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Strategy Plan, goal number two, as the goal is to create compassion and belonging. Since CSUSB serves students of different ethnic and social backgrounds, he says he values the DEI goal because it aims to implement training requirements of all management, faculty, staff and search committee members.
Diversity is a vital part of CSUSB and we are proud to represent various backgrounds, thoughts and experiences.
