Cal State San Bernardino will offer additional courses and financial aid to encourage students to stay on track to graduate during Summer Session 2023.
CSUSB will offer three sessions, with the first 5-week and 10-week sessions beginning on May 30, and the second 5-week session beginning on July 10.
The summer session registration begins Monday, April 3. Classes fill up quickly, so students are encouraged to register early.
A selection of courses are being offered that allow students to complete the requirements needed for graduation. The majority of courses will be delivered online with some in-person and hybrid options to choose from. This flexible schedule provides students an opportunity to get ahead or stay on track while still enjoying some much-needed time to relax and spend time with their families.
In support of students, course fees are structured so that students can increase their unit load during the summer and pay less. This is a great opportunity for students to get ahead. Graduating seniors can also take advantage of the Graduation Initiative Grant, which covers 100% of their summer tuition.
Students are encouraged to reach out to their advisors in advance to see if they are ready to graduate this summer and take advantage of the Graduation Initiative Grant. This is in addition to the State University Grant available to all students (regardless of student level) enrolled during the summer who have met the criteria.
“Our 2023 Summer Session is another example of Cal State San Bernardino’s dedication and determination in helping our students succeed academically,” said university president Tomás D. Morales. “I urge our students, especially graduating seniors, to help complete their degrees in a timely fashion by enrolling and attending the summer session, for which we have set aside an extensive amount of financial aid.”
“Taking classes over the summer allows you to earn more credits toward your degree, bringing you closer to graduation,” said Rafik Mohamed, provost and vice president for Academic Affairs. “It also provides additional financial aid that is not available in other terms, allowing seniors graduating in the summer to qualify for financial assistance even if they don’t have FAFSA.”
Additional details regarding the session dates, fees, course schedule, grant and eligibility criteria can be found at the Summer Session website.
