Meredith Conroy, an associate professor of political science at California State University, San Bernardino, was quoted in an article about why candidates who already have some national name recognition, like Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, can benefit from prolonging an announcement to delay the heightened scrutiny that comes with formally entering the race.
When a candidate announces, "there is more time for attacks, criticism, and negative attention, and those attacks ... are more newsworthy because you are an official candidate," Conroy wrote in an email to Axios.
Measuring spatial accessibility to adult day services for older adults using GIS

Yawen Li (social work) led a team of CSUSB researchers who published a study that “aims to (a) measure and compare the spatial accessibility to ADS (adult day services) across major racial and ethnic minority older adult groups, and to (b) identify underserved urban areas which have limited access to ADS.”
Also working with Li were Bo Xu, Rama Ewing and Cande Rodriguez (geography and environmental studies) and Herb Shon (social work).
