Following a national search, Fontana resident Christina Hassija has been named dean of the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences (CSBS) at Cal State San Bernardino. Hassija will also hold an academic appointment as a tenured full professor in the Department of Psychology.

Kenneth S. Shultz, professor of psychology at California State University at San Bernardino, was quoted in a column by Janet Hook, who wrote on being a recovering workaholic.
“Getting more sleep, eating better, making more connections, going back to hobbies you have not done in a while — most people find that incredibly rewarding and enriching,” Shultz told Hook on how to transition from being “on” 24/7 to a less hectic schedule.

Zachary Powell, an assistant professor of criminal justice at Cal State San Bernardino, was interviewed for an article about law enforcement agencies using military hardware as part of their policing.
“There are some cases where it might be good to have this sort of equipment,” said Powell. “But in terms of making people feel safe or increasing public safety, the evidence is pretty thin.”
