Trust in the police and affective evaluation of police faces: a preliminary study

Nathan Brunet (psychology) and Zachary Powell (criminal justice) published a study that investigated whether “an individual’s trust in law enforcement affects their perception of the emotional facial expressions displayed by police officers. … The study emphasizes the substantial role of attitudes in shaping social perception, particularly within the context of law enforcement.”
Entrepreneurial Resource Center opens in San Bernardino

Nearly 100 people filled the Studio D business hub on the top floor of the Chase Building in the early evening of Nov. 2 to officially mark the grand opening of the Entrepreneurial Resource Center (ERC), a partnership between the city of San Bernardino and Cal State San Bernardino’s Inland Empire Center for Entrepreneurship (IECE). The ERC is designed to be an easily accessible hub for small business services, centrally located in downtown San Bernardino at Studio D, 330 N. D Street.
“This is a community resource,” said Mike Stull, a professor of entrepreneurship and director of the IECE and the CSUSB School of Entrepreneurship. “We’re, for lack of a better term, we’re an anchor. But we are baked into the project as we’re bringing in other community organizations to be our affiliate partners, to bring in resources and services that either we don’t always provide, or that they’re filling a niche, or they have great relationships in the community that can be leveraged and grown so that we can impact more small businesses. So it’s not just us, it’s a team effort.”

The city of San Bernardino, in partnership with California State University, San Bernardino’s Inland Empire Center for Entrepreneurship (IECE), last week unveiled a significant step forward in the city’s economic revitalization with the launch of the Entrepreneurial Resource Center (ERC). The grand opening of the ERC at Studio D, a new co-working and business hub, signified a collaborative endeavor to provide business owners and entrepreneurs with essential support and resources.
Mike Stull, professor of entrepreneurship and director of the IECE and the CSUSB School of Entrepreneurship, highlighted the center’s mission to expand access to entrepreneurial tools and bolster the longevity of local businesses.
Since its inception in 1999, the IECE has played a vital role in the region’s entrepreneurial community, providing extensive business counseling, mentoring, and trailblazing training programs that have significantly contributed to job creation and retention, with an impressive economic impact of $534 million.
