New Hampshire primary 2024: Trump projected to win, Haley vows to fight on
ABC News
Jan. 23, 2024
Meredith Conroy, CSUSB associate professor of political science and 538 contributor, participated in a live chat with other 538 contributors and staff during the New Hampshire primary election on Jan. 23, in which Donald Trump finished first and Nikki Haley second in the Republican primary. Among her thoughts, “… I think Haley will stay in for as long as she can fund it. She seems emboldened, and maybe she can shake some Trump supporters loose in her home state (South Carolina) to keep it going.”
She also said, “Haley seems to be bolder in her attacks on Trump as time goes on (like drawing attention to his mental fitness as she did tonight). That also tells me she isn't ready to drop out.”
