California State University, San Bernardino has again been named to U.S. News & World Report’s 2024 Best Online Programs national ranking by securing the 44th position for its graduate criminal justice program and the 137th spot for its MBA program.

The online graduate criminal justice program ranked No. 4 in California after UC Irvine (No. 1 nationally), the University of San Diego (No. 22) and Cal State Long Beach (No. 30).

“Our online criminal justice program is a beacon of excellence in the field, consistently recognized among the nation's finest,” said Christina Hassija, dean of the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences, where the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice is housed. “This recent accolade reaffirms not just the quality of our online program, but is also a testament to the caliber of our criminal justice faculty and the commitment of the students we serve. Securing such prominent rankings fills me with immense pride and underscores our dedication to providing unparalleled education and solidifying our position as a leader in the digital learning landscape.”

The online MBA program was No. 5 in the state in the U.S. News & World Report rankings, and the highest ranked California State University on the list. The University of Southern California (No. 3 nationally), led the California universities, followed by Santa Clara and UC Davis (tied at No. 42), Pepperdine University (No. 94) and Cal Baptist (No. 129).

U.S. News & World Report has been evaluating online education programs for the past 11 years, acknowledging the increasing significance of distance learning. The rankings focus on program quality rather than overall institutional rankings and consider only predominantly online degree programs offered by regionally accredited institutions. The methodology ensures that standards are comparable to traditional programs adapted for online delivery.
