Renowned South Korean film director, Jae-Huun Ahn, will be the guest presenter for the Korean Studies 2024 Guest Lecture Series, which is sponsored by the College of Arts & Letters.
The lecture series will take place in person over four days, March 5-8, in the Santos Manuel Student Union-South Theatre, Room 107. This event is free and open to all.
Ahn is a trailblazer in the realm of animation. His illustrious career spans more than two decades, marked by a string of remarkable achievements, including his pioneering efforts in establishing one of South Korea's first animation studios with a systematic production pipeline.
Several films released by Ahn’s studio, Meditation with a Pencil, have won awards at prestigious film festivals, including Brussels Anima Festival, Seoul International Cartoon and Animation Festival, Busan International Film Festival and Annecy International Animated Film Festival.
The lecture series will feature screenings of four of Ahn’s animation films, including “The Road Called Life,” “The Shaman Sorceress,” “The Shower,” and “Green Days.” Each screening will be followed by discussion and opportunities to interact with the director.
