On Aug. 23, The Coyote Experience Fall 2024 event officially welcomed students to campus and set the tone for the upcoming 2024-25 academic year. Hosted by the university's Associated Students Inc. and Orientation & First Year Experience, the event was held at the Santos Manuel Student Union (SMSU) North and South from 11 a.m.-3:30 p.m., drawing a crowd of eager students ready to start their new academic journey.
The event program kicked off at 11 a.m. with a warm welcome from university President Tomás D. Morales, who encouraged students to make the most of their time at CSUSB. Following the president’s inspiring words, Vice President for Student Affairs Paz Olivérez took the stage, emphasizing the university’s commitment to student success. The program also included alumni presentations and a panel discussion.
At noon, the focus shifted to the individual colleges, where students attended presentations tailored to their specific academic interests. The participating colleges included the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences, College of Arts and Letters, Jack H. Brown College of Business and Public Administration, and the College of Natural Sciences.
The event continued with a lunch at 12:30 p.m., giving students a chance to relax, refuel, and socialize with their peers. The energy remained high as everyone then made their way to the SMSU South lobby for The Coyote Experience Trade Show. From 1:30-3:30 p.m., students explored the trade show booths, interacting with various campus organizations and services. The event featured fun games and an opportunity to learn more about how to get involved in campus life.
