Local African American high school students from Riverside County gained academic and financial resources through interactive workshops and hands-on assistance at the Scholarship Success Summit: Your Path to Higher Education.
Students learned everything they need to know about college at the lively event, including valuable information about scholarships, financial aid and literacy, and college applications. Additionally, students had the opportunity to apply for college, FASFA and scholarships at the event. While the target audience was 11th- and 12th-grade students, all grade levels were welcome to attend.
In addition, the Scholarship Success Summit featured a resource fair, which included Divine 9 organizations and CSUSB campus partners, such as the Pan-African Student Success Center, Office of Black Student Success, Career Center, Athletics and the Educational Opportunity Program.
This marked the first time CSUSB’s Office of Outreach and Student Recruitment and Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc., in collaboration with the San Bernardino City Unified School District and the Heritage Program in the Riverside Unified School District, hosted the event at Cal State San Bernardino.
The Scholarship Success Summit, held Oct. 15, equipped students with vital tools, resources and information to aid them on their educational journeys. The successful collaborative effort highlights the community's commitment to empowering the next generation of scholars.
