California State University, San Bernardino hosted CSU Student Trustee Jazmin Guajardo on campus on Oct. 24 as part of her seven-campus tour across the 23-campus university system. Guajardo, a nursing major at Cal State Channel Islands, visited CSUSB to connect with students, faculty, and administrators and to gain firsthand insight into the unique challenges and initiatives impacting the university.
CSUSB was Guajardo’s third stop on her semester-long tour. Guajardo, who grew up in Santa Paula with her three sisters, expressed a deep commitment to addressing the issues she has consistently encountered in her visits, notably academic advising, timely financial aid disbursements, and the affordability of student housing.
Throughout her daylong visit, Guajardo met with key leaders, including CSUSB President Tomás D. Morales, Vice President for Student Affairs Paz Olivérez, and Associated Students Inc. (ASI) President Carson Fajardo.
Her engagements included a campus tour and visits to the Obershaw DEN and several of CSUSB’s affinity centers, where she noted the university’s focus on student inclusivity and success. A highlight of her visit was meeting with the ASI leadership, where she discussed shared goals and initiatives for advancing the student experience.
Guajardo commended CSUSB’s dedication to student success, citing the campus community’s collaborative spirit and strong commitment to educational equity.
