Cal State San Bernardino will host a free, public discussion, “A Conversation on Trade & Tariffs: Myths & Maths,” on Wednesday, July 16, at 11:45 a.m. in Jack H. Brown Hall, Room 287. The event is open to students, faculty, staff and the broader community. Attendees are asked to register in advance.
Led by Tomás Gomez-Arias, dean of the Jack H. Brown College of Business and Public Administration, and Stella Qiu, chair of the Department of Management, the discussion will explore the truths and misconceptions surrounding trade and tariffs. The event will offer valuable insights into the economic principles and real-world implications of global trade policy.
“In the current business climate, the conversation about tariffs is timely," said Gomez-Arias.
“Trade and tariffs are deeply connected with our daily lives and impact us in many ways,” added Qiu, who will help guide the discussion through both a theoretical and practical lens.
The program is an opportunity to better understand how international trade impacts industries, consumers and the economy at large.
