CSUSB’s Science Success Center, housed in the College of Natural Sciences (CNS), will host its Fall Open House and Donuts with the Dean on Thursday, Sept. 11, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

Open to all STEM students, the full-day event is designed to introduce attendees to the people, programs and resources that will support their academic and professional journey at CSUSB.

Held at the Science Success Cener (TO-145), the day will begin with a welcome session with CNS Dean Sastry G. Pantula, where students will hear about the college’s vision for the year ahead and learn about opportunities for growth in the STEM fields.

A resource fair will offer students the chance to meet with campus partners and discover services, such as tutoring, mentoring, academic advising, research programs and career pathways in STEM. Additional breakout sessions throughout the day will cover essential topics, including time management, strategies for success in STEM courses, internship opportunities, and preparation for graduate school.

Attendees will also have opportunities for student and faculty networking, allowing them to build connections with professors, staff and peers. Additionally, throughout the event, students can participate in raffles and giveaways.

Donuts will be provided in the morning, adding a sweet start to a day focused on building community and preparing for academic success.

The event will also highlight support services funded by the PATHS (Proactive Approaches for Training Hispanics in STEM) grant, which aims to increase retention and success for Hispanic and low-income students in STEM.

Students are encouraged to attend and take advantage of this one-stop opportunity to build a strong foundation for the new academic year.
