The Cooperative Economic Empowerment Movement (CEEM), in collaboration with the Office of Black Student Success and Career Center, hosted the Mic and Mind event at Cal State San Bernardino, celebrating youth creativity, entrepreneurship and community connection.

The event featured vendors and a dynamic poetry reading, along with a complimentary lunch that allowed attendees to connect with peers and professionals.

Among the performers in the open mic competition were CSUSB students, who showcased their creativity and talent. A $500 prize was awarded to the best performer, recognizing outstanding skill and stage presence. Students also gained valuable insight from the entrepreneur panel, which included an engaging Q&A on building a successful business and financial literacy.

Members of the campus and local community attended the Sept. 6 celebration, among them was CSUSB President Tomás D. Morales, showing support for the event’s focus on empowering young entrepreneurs.

The Cooperative Economic Empowerment Movement is dedicated to building wealth and equity within the Black community through education, advocacy and entrepreneurial support. By fostering collaboration among members, businesses and community leaders, CEEM works to close the racial wealth gap and promote sustainable, collective prosperity.
