The Music Department’s Holiday Gala is set for Wednesday, Dec. 4, and Thursday, Dec. 5, at 7 p.m. in the Music Recital Hall, located in the university’s Performing Arts Building. Tickets are on sale now, with discounts available for students, alumni, military personnel, and seniors.
Stacey Fraser (music) was highlighted in an article about the latest work of composer Jack van Zandt, and Brian Levin (criminal justice) was interviewed about Antifa and other topics.
"Falling," a 25-minute chamber work, is based on a poem that traces a flight attendant’s fall from an airplane. The show will be on Oct. 27, 4 p.m. at CSUSB.
The CSUSB Fall Music Showcase series featuring pianist Danny Holt is on Wednesday, Oct. 16 at 7:30 p.m. in the Music Department Recital Hall. Tickets are now on sale.
Piano Day, which celebrates piano students in both solo and collaborative works, will take place at Cal State San Bernardino’s Music Recital Hall on Saturday, May 19.
Works composed for orchestra by Allen Menton, an associate professor of music theory and composition, and music majors Edwin De Paz and Josh Ryan were featured in the CSUSB Chamber Orchestra concert performed June 7.
The camp will give students entering grades 9-12 in fall 2018 a challenging, positive learning environment that will expand their musical development and skills in the use of either woodwind, brass or percussion instruments.
