The South Fork of the American River is the perfect blend of excitement, fun, and beautiful scenery. This Class 3 river is ideal for first-time rafters and anyone looking for an action-packed but approachable adventure. With 21 miles of exciting whitewater, this trip delivers nonstop fun on the river. Experience a series of memorable rapids like Troublemaker, Satan’s Cesspool, and Hospital Bar as you paddle through one of California’s most popular rafting destinations.

We will camp 2 nights right along the South Fork American River in Lotus, CA, giving you plenty of time to relax, soak in the river, and enjoy the outdoors. During the trip, we’ll also visit Marshall Gold Discovery State Park, where the California Gold Rush began. On the way home, we’ll stop in Old Town Sacramento before returning to CSUSB.
