Guests at the university’s “Spirit of Polynesia” gala felt transported to Polynesia, a region known for its rich and diverse culinary traditions, warm hospitality and natural beauty.
The gala, called “Spirit of Polynesia,” will feature classic Tiki cocktails and mocktails, as well as native dishes influenced by Southeast Asia, Europe and South America. It will also showcase program developments, introduce students in the program and recognize sponsors and donors.
Proceeds from the black-tie event go to the IECE’s Spirit of the Entrepreneur Scholarship Fund, which provides grants to the next generation of entrepreneurs.
“New York, New York” was a festive evening of iconic New York City foods, classic cocktails and music that showcased program developments, introduced hospitality program students and featured student DJs from PDC’s Paws Radio.

Since its creation in 2003, the Spirit of the Entrepreneur has honored more than 200 entrepreneurs in the inland region for building businesses into major contributors to the region’s economy.
The 20th anniversary gala will include special Legacy Awards to two outstanding previous Spirit of the Entrepreneur Award recipients along with the featured award recipients.
The Inland Empire Center for Entrepreneurship has announced the finalists for its annual Spirit of the Entrepreneur gala to be held in November.
The Inland Empire Center for Entrepreneurship at CSUSB is seeking nominations of IE-based entrepreneurs for the 2021 Spirit of the Entrepreneur Awards. The deadline is Aug. 20 to submit nominations.
