The virtual event, co-hosted by the Mexican Consulate in San Bernardino, CSUSB, the university’s Latino Education & Advocacy Days project (LEAD) and Associated Students Inc., is the consulate’s official celebration of Mexican Independence Day for the inland region.
About 500 people celebrated Mexican Independence Day at CSUSB on Sept. 15 with festivities that included cultural performances of music and dance, and featured the Mexican Consul with the ringing of a bell and cry for patriotism or “El Grito.”
CSUniverse, a new digital publication from the California State University, is now available online, and CSUSB is represented in the inaugural edition.
CSUSB, LEAD, ASI and the Mexican Consulate in San Bernardino are hosting a celebration of Mexican Independence Day with the traditional ringing of a bell and “El Grito,” the cry for patriotism on Sept. 15, from 5-9 p.m., by the Consul of Mexico.
