“As a longstanding member of AGB, an organization that does so much for so many institutions of higher education, it’s an honor and a privilege to serve in an advisory capacity to its leadership as a member of the Council on Foundation Leaders,” said Robert J. Nava, vice president for University Advancement. The Association of Governing Boards of Universities and Colleges Council on Foundation Leaders provides counsel to key industry leaders to help them navigate the changing education landscape.
Three friends of Cal State San Bernardino – Shelby Obershaw, Ingeborg Schuler and Terrance L. Stone – were honored at the annual event for their contributions to the university and the community.
Richard “Cheech” Marin was awarded the President’s Medal for his accomplishments as an actor, author of children’s books and a preeminent collector of Chicano art and the recently opened Cheech Marin Center for Chicano Art and Culture.
CSUSB alumna Paulette Brown-Hinds ’90, has been named the first African American to chair the Inland Empire Community Foundation’s Board of Directors. Also appointed to the board were CSUSB Foundation board member Nefertiti Long and CSUSB adjunct professor Kathy Johnson.
