
The immersive program, which took place during their spring break in April, was designed to provide students with firsthand exposure to the vibrant hospitality industry of Italy and offered participants hands-on learning and professional development opportunities.

Students had opportunities to interact with business owners and operators in the manufacturing and services sectors of wine, food products, retail, hospitality and tourism.

Students participated in a variety of activities, visited iconic landmarks and immersed themselves in Italian culture.

Students will go behind the scenes at various venues and attractions and interact with local professionals at numerous cultural points of interest.

Silvia Chiave, Consul General of Italy in Los Angeles, visited the Palm Desert Campus to discuss her life and career, her current role as Consul General, and provide perspectives about tourism in Italy and her time as a former sommelier.
