Yolonda Youngs, professor of geography and recipient the prestigious John Brinkerhoff Jackson Prize awarded by the Association of American Geographers, will present “Framing Nature: The Creation of an American Icon at the Grand Canyon.” This free event, open to the public, will take place at noon Tuesday, April 22, at the Faculty Center for Excellence.
The lecture series launches its spring semester talks with a presentation by Debora Perez Torres, assistant professor of communication studies, on Feb. 12. Also scheduled are presentations by Michelle Russen (marketing), Yolonda Youngs (geography) and Hannah Kivalahula-Uddin (education). All talks are free and open to the public.
Mandy Rymal, associate professor of kinesiology, will present “Watch This!” at the next program of The Provost Presents Faculty Research Series, set for noon Wednesday, March 13.
Neal Malik, CSUSB associate professor of health science and human ecology and director of the master in public health program, will discuss “Childhood and adolescent obesity treatment interventions: Where are we now and where do we need to go?” at noon Thursday, Feb. 29, in-person and on Zoom.
The talk, free and open to the public, will take place from noon-1 p.m. in the John M. Pfau Library, room PL-4005, as well as on Zoom.
