CSUSB Palm Desert Campus alumna introduces former President Joe Biden at Chuckwalla National Monument dedication in Washington, D.C.

CSUSB Palm Desert Campus alumna Rhian Reyes was born and raised in the Coachella Valley and works as a campaign organizer at Audubon California in Palm Desert, where her work focuses on community outreach, organizing and education.

Staff of the award-winning student-run journal, History in the Making: A Journal of History, are Victoria Gomez, Rhian Reyes (standing), Christina Monson, Devin Gillen, George “Matt” Patino, Rossandra Martinez, Daniela Bedolla, Conor Farrell (standing), Gustavo Alonso, and Jean Martinez. Missing are: Evy Zermeno and Samantha Collaso.

History department’s student-run journal, History in the Making, nationally recognized

The 16th edition of the journal was awarded second place in the 2023 Gerald D. Nash History Journal Competition – Graduate Print Division by the Phi Alpha Theta National History Honor Society. It marks the sixth consecutive year that the journal has been honored by Phi Alpha Theta.
