Yasemin Dildar, associate professor of economics, has publications in journals such as World Development and Review of Radical Political Economy.
Economics associate professor Yasemin Dildar’s primary research and teaching interest is development economics. Her other interests include macroeconomics, labor economics, political economy, feminist economics and environmental economics.
She has publications in journals such as World Development, Social Science History and Review of Radical Political Economy. One of her research projects focuses on the determinants of domestic violence in Turkey and the impact of pro-natalist population policies on fertility preferences in Turkey.
In 2017, Dildar, in partnership with fellow economics associate professor Daniel MacDonald, conducted a study on the sociological effects of homeownership in California, which was awarded the 2017 Best Local Government Affairs Effort in the Government Affairs category by the National Association for Home Builders.
Dildar earned her master’s in economics from Middle East Technical University in Turkey and her Ph.D. in economics from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Her dissertation was titled, “Structural Transformation, Culture, and Women’s Labor Force Participation in Turkey.”
