Melissa decided to fulfill her mother’s dream in becoming a nurse. She ultimately chose CSUSB for its accredited nursing program to help her achieve her goal of becoming a nurse practitioner with an emphasis in pediatrics.
“I decided to go to college because I experienced firsthand how it is to struggle and live pay check to pay check. I want to be that pillar of financial support for my single mother and my siblings,” she said. “My mother never finished college or high school; she had immigrated when she was 16. It was her dream to be a nurse and finish school; I am seeking to succeed her
