Seven alumni from the Class of 1968 returned to their alma mater at Cal State San Bernardino to celebrate their golden anniversary. Called the Golden Grads, the alumni joined the university for a series of events on Sept. 16 and 17, including CSUSB’s annual Convocation to celebrate the beginning of the 2018-19 academic year. “Joining us for this morning’s festivities is this year’s class of Golden Grads. They are members of the Class of 1968, celebrating their 50th anniversary,” said CSUSB President Tomás D. Morales during Convocation. “As they reaffirm their connection to their alma mater, their presence provides us an intimate link to our past.” This year’s Golden Grads are:

Social & Behavioral Sciences: B.A., sociology, ’68; Business & Public Administration: M.A., administration, ’74 On Sept. 16, the Golden Grads attended a special luncheon in the CSUSB Obershaw Dining Room, where each alumnus was officially inducted as a member of the university’s Golden Grads Society. Following the gathering on campus, the Golden Grads and CSUSB retirees were invited to a meetup at Castaway Restaurant in San Bernardino. The following day, the Golden Grads enjoyed a breakfast near the Legacy Fountain, and then joined the CSUSB campus community for the annual Convocation celebration at Coussoulis Arena. The rest of the day included a campus tour, a visit to the Murillo Family Observatory and a Convocation reception at the new Coyote Commons.
