Cal State San Bernardino, will give the opening presentation at the annual California Community Colleges Purchasing Conference, April 4-6, in San Diego.

The theme for this year’s conference is Reimagining the Future of Purchasing. The conference provides procurement professionals from across the state the opportunity to network with system-wide partners, collaborate with their colleagues, and attend sessions by purchasing experts and a cast of inspirational speakers. The conference will be held at the Catamaran Resort Hotel and Spa.

Roman, who is the director of the CSUSB Research Institute for Public Management and Governance and coordinator of the university’s management certificate in public procurement program, will give the keynote presentation reflecting the theme of the conference, “Reimagining the Future of Purchasing,” at 1 p.m.

In his speech, Roman will address the latest professionalization trends in the field. He will also discuss what is on the horizon of procurement higher education, in particular the development of a master’s program in public procurement.
