The California State University has approved the master plans for Cal State San Bernardino and its Palm Desert Campus, setting the stage for developing both campus sites as the university seeks to serve the growing population of the Inland Empire and the Coachella Valley.

Both master plans seek to transform the university from suburban commuter campuses to residential campuses.

In San Bernardino, the plan will serve an estimated enrollment of 20,000 to 25,000 full-time equivalent students, increasing the number of on-campus student housing buildings built around an academic core.

Plans also include expansion of the Santos Manuel Student Union and the John M. Pfau Library.

In the Coachella Valley, the master plan for the Palm Desert Campus will serve an estimated enrollment of 8,000 full-time equivalent students. 

The expansion will be builtd around the existing core of buildings, and include the construction of student housing.

At full build-out, both master plans will create a 24/7 live, work, learn environment for the Inland Empire and the Coachella Valley.
