
Michelle Lorimer and Michael Karp (history) discussed the National Endowment of the Humanities grant that was pulled from their history project, and Brian Levin (criminal justice, emeritus) was interviewed about the scope of immigration enforcement by federal officers in the Los Angeles region.

Students had the opportunity to interact with vendors and business operators from across the country and internationally.

The grant will allow the program to enhance its outreach efforts, improve access to essential medical services and provide hands-on clinical training opportunities for CSUSB nursing students.

Many of the newly minted CSUSB alumni are the first in their families to earn a college degree. “With this achievement you have broken a barrier and will now forever be a role model for siblings, relatives and future generations,” university President Tomás D. Morales said. Five commencement ceremonies took place May 16-17.

Jason Davalos, who lives in Palm Desert, will receive a bachelor of science degree in nursing at this year’s CSUSB College of Natural Sciences Commencement ceremony, taking place at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 17, at the Toyota Arena in Ontario.

The event serves as a special opportunity to highlight academic excellence, as well as recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of graduating students.

The event marked the beginning of construction on a state-of-the-art facility designed to enhance support services for students and expand access to higher education in the Coachella Valley.

Jennifer Alford (geography and environmental studies) is the 2024-25 Golden Apple Award recipient; Thomas Chapman (cybersecurity) discussed credit card security; Justin Schneider (nursing) was interviewed about the Nursing Peer Mentoring Program; and Jonathan Dubois (anthropology adjunct) was interviewed about hawk symbolism.
