Helping CSUSB students find agencies or non-profits organizations looking for volunteers, or employers looking for part-time workers or interns, became a combined effort today as the university’s Office of Community Engagement and Career Center worked together to hold fairs for students.
“This is the first time we’ve collaborated with the Career Center for this type of event, but we thought it would draw students to the event to have jobs, internships and volunteer opportunities all in one place…a ‘one-stop shop’ idea,” said Diane Podolske, director of the Office of Community Engagement.
Both fairs will be held until 2 p.m. on the Pfau Library Walkway.
The list of participants for the volunteer fair includes: the American Red Cross, Braille Institute, C.A.S.A. of San Bernardino County, Children's Foundation of America, city of Riverside, Family Service Association, Helping Hands Pantry, House of Ruth, Lutheran Social Services of Southern CA-Central City Lutheran Mission, Option House, Inc., the Peace Corps, The Salvation Army, San Bernardino Community Center, San Bernardino Sexual Assault Services, Southern CA Mountains Foundation, THINK Together and the VNA Hospice & Palliative Care of Southern California.
The list of employers includes: Coyne & Associates Education Corp., Bass Pro Shops, QVC, Think Together, Mountain High Resort, FedEx Ground, San Manuel Band of Mission Indians, Michael Kors, Behavioral Health Works, Nordstrom, SkyPark at Santa’s Village, Toys “R” Us Inc., Target Corporation, Musicland, Swarovski Crystal, Kids That Code Inc., New York Life Insurance Company, Fastenal Company, Tommy Bahama, Youth Action Project and Reach Out.
