Cal State San Bernardino’s Palm Desert Campus has named Kameron Manshadi as its Outstanding Undergraduate Student for 2020.
Manshadi, who lives in Rancho Mirage, received a bachelor of science degree in nursing and graduated summa cum laude.
Born and raised in Tehran, Iran, Manshadi immigrated to the United States 10 years ago in search of democracy, freedom and human rights. After facing many hurdles, he cleared his path to becoming an integral part of the health care system in the United States.
“Becoming a nurse is at the core of who I am and not just what I want to be” said Manshadi.
After being accepted into the BSN program at the CSUSB Palm Desert Campus, Manshadi focused every aspect of his life on his education. “It was gratifying to see the outcome of my hard work and dedication” he said. “Having a 4.0 GPA almost every quarter, and being on the Dean’s List of Distinguished Students validated my efforts.”
During his years at the Palm Desert Campus, some of Manshadi's accomplishments have included: being a member of Sigma Theta Tau International (Rho Beta Chapter), the Golden Key and Phi Kappa Phi Honor societies, serving as the class representative of the 2020 nursing cohort, being an active participant in Coyote Nurses of the Desert and working with the homeless population in the Coachella Valley through the Palm Desert Campus's street medicine program.
The CSUSB Palm Desert Campus offers bachelor’s and master’s degrees, a doctorate in educational leadership, and teaching credentials and certificates. With more than 1,600 students, it is the Coachella Valley’s four-year public university and plays a vital role in educating and training the region’s growing population.
