The emergence of COVID-19 in the Coachella Valley it is has disproportionately affected the hospitality and tourism industry that employs almost one in four workers.
To help with the recovery and reopening, a webinar, “Hospitality & Tourism amid COVID-19 Reopening and Recovery in the Coachella Valley” will be held on Friday, Sept. 18 at 2 p.m., by the Department of Marketing at the Jack H. Brown College of Business and Public Administration at Cal State San Bernardino.
The Coachella Valley represents a unique destination with attractions and venues in close proximity to one of the largest drive markets in the United States. As businesses reopen, there is renewed focus on standards for employee and customer safety. The good news is that businesses are starting to reopen and recover with tourists returning to the Valley.

The opening remarks will be given by Joseph Tormey, director of the CSUSB Hospitality Management Program followed by a panel session comprised of hospitality industry experts who will provide their perspectives on the best practices to educate and inform the general public, business owners, managers, employees, tourists, local consumers and students about reopening and recovery in the Coachella Valley.
The panelists are:
