Virtual Justice Luncheons hosted by CSUSB’s Project Rebound will focus on AB 1008 "Ban the Box," also known as the California Fair Chance Act.
Both scheduled for noon, the first is set for Monday, March 1, with Brandon Butler, deputy director of Fair Employment and Housing, and the second for Wednesday, March 3, with Project Rebound staff. Both will take place on Zoom.
The California Fair Chance Act prohibits employers to ask job seekers and landlords to ask rental applicants who were formerly incarcerated to disclose their conviction history. The focus of both luncheons is to discuss what AB-1008 is as well as the rights it provides to those seeking employment.
