Eric Nilsson, CSUSB professor emeritus of economics, was quoted in an article about the growing opposition to mega-warehouses in the Inland Empire, that are proposed in areas near homes and schools. He commented on the lack of resources lower-income communities near proposed projects to challenge developers. In the community of Bloomington, for example, there is a proposal for a 2.1-million-square-foot warehouse project in Bloomington that involves re-zoning a residential neighborhood to accommodate industrial uses.
“In Bloomington, they are being steamrolled,” Nilsson said.
