Four members of the California State University (CSU) Board of Trustees spent the day at Cal State San Bernardino’s Palm Desert Campus on Nov. 15 to meet with various members of the CSUSB community, including cabinet members, university administrators, faculty, staff and students.
The board members, who included Larry Adamson, Wenda Fong, Lillian Kimbell, and Julia I. Lopez, enjoyed presentations about the Palm Desert Campus and the Coachella Valley, and took a campus tour led by PDC students.
A student roundtable was held, followed by a lunch with the PDC Advancement Board at Bellatrix at The Classic Club.
They then travelled to the newly opened Palm Desert iHub, a collaboration of the city of Palm Desert, the Coachella Valley Economic Partnership (CVEP) and CSUSB, where they met with Palm Desert city officials and toured the new space, which will house innovative and in-demand university programs in cybersecurity, hospitality management and entrepreneurship, and will bring expanded educational offerings to the Coachella Valley.
The day concluded back on the Palm Desert Campus where the trustees met with the CSUSB Faculty Senate Executive Committee and had a closing session with CSUSB President Tomás D. Morales.
